Hopscotch - Should I choose forward?

It's nice to see that there are some games from our childhood that are still being played today. Apparently hopscotch might have been around since the days of the Romans! Luckily for me, there were no young people or cameras around to challenge me in a match!

From what I remember of the game, you have to make it from one end of the other of the hopscotch, without losing your balance as you stoop down to pick up your piece.

That's a bit of an analogy for our government right now, isn't it? How to keep things in balance? Do we choose to go forward or do we stop and go back?
