6/25/2019 0 Comments Nikomekl RiverPopped into the Nikomekl River Planning Workshop run by the City of Langley to discuss ways of enhancing the river running through the City. Great crowd of about 50 came down to talk about improving the fish habitat, flood prevention, accessability and other great ideas. It's encouraging to see residents get involved!

6/1/2019 0 Comments Adopt a streetWe just completed our first neighbourhood clean up as part of the Township of Langley Adopt-a-Program which provides all the supplies. Catherine and I spent an hour picking up some of the garbage that tends to be discarded by some of less caring individuals. Overall, there was surprisingly little garbage! There was only one fast food wrapping discard, some plastic in the detention ponds and a couple of doggie bags left behind. Mind you, there were a lot of cigarette butts and those plastic cigarillo tips apparently never decompose! On the plus side: a bald eagle sighting, loads of swallows and a couple of red-winged blackbirds. We live in a fantastic neighbourhood! |
