Hi! I'm Leon Jensen fromAldergrove.

What's my story?
I joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a reservist with the 15th Field Artillery Regiment RCA in 1970. I progressed through the ranks from Gunner to Chief Warrant Officer. After my tour as Regimental Sergeant Major I was offered a commission as a Captain rising through the Officer ranks to Colonel (WSE) while serving in Ottawa. I served full time during an operational tour with the UN Protection Force and NATO in the former Yugoslavia and during an extended time at Army Headquarters.
On the civilian side I have been involved in the warehouse equipment industry as an installer, supervisor, operations manager and sales representative. The products included shelving, pallet racking, dock equipment and rolling stock.
Who am I?
I'm a university student working on my Bachelor of Arts in Leadership studies at Trinity Western University. I'm a Rotarian, the chairman of the Tip 'n Taste fundraiser for the past two years. I'm the president of the Vancouver Artillery Association (Vancouver Gunners) that works on preserving the heritage of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery on the mainland of British Columbia and providing opportunities for Gunner veterans to stay connected (we're currently working on an 18 pounder gun manufactured in 1918). I'm the president of The Royal Canadian Artillery Association which works on a national level currently linking together the 4,000 current serving gunners and the Gunner veterans who have retired.
Where did I come from?
I was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and arrived in Vancouver, BC when I was three years old. In my early years I lived in Vancouver on the eastside before the family move to the suburbs in Tsawwassen.  After graduation I spent some time on the west side of Vancouver in Kitsilano before buying my first townhouse in Burnaby in 1976. My employer at that time transferred me to Calgary and Edmonton although I eventually came back to the coast and raised my family in Surrey.
Subsequent opportunities led me to Ottawa, Langley City, Australia, and Walnut Grove before settling down in lovely Aldergrove.
