It was another great day that again featured some excellent narrative from all the participants. The world would be a better place if we all took the time to stop and listen to what others have to say.

9/23/2017 0 Comments Fraser HighlandersThe Fraser Highlanders were looking for a topic for dinner and came up with a unique idea. What did the artillery battle look like on the Plains of Abraham? Apparently no one had thought of this question before so it was decided to reach out to the retired artillery Colonel/Regimental Sergeant Major (That's me!) and see if I could give a talk on the subject. Well, that was quite the interesting subject to research.
Great dinner, great group of people. Thanks for the invite. 9/15/2017 0 Comments BC Exchange Teachers AssociationAttended a great barbeque with the BC Exchange Teachers Association hosted by Mel and June in Murrayville. My wife, Catherine, is the President of the organization and I'm the Secretary. The association is intended to assist foreign teachers on exchange in BC with any questions they might have and to organize some social outings that portray a bit of our Canadian culture. It's also a great opportunity to talk with other Canadian exchange teachers and relive some of the great times (and some of the hardships) encountered while on an exchange. The group at the barbecue included connections with Australia, Great Britain, France, Germany and Switzerland. Thanks to Mel and June for being such great hosts!
9/7/2017 0 Comments Where does the time fly?I've been so busy working on a bunch of projects that I've barely had time to update my own website! The big project has been the Rotary Interpretive Centre at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum. I've suggested to the Rotary Club that we should record the progress of the building on-line so that we can show the work of a bunch of dedicated volunteers. Of course some of my suggestions often involve my volunteering to do the work itself! Check out this link to the Rotary Club Site and enjoy the pictures and videos. https://www.facebook.com/langleyrotary/
