1/31/2018 1 Comment Australia adventureCatherine and I are on the executive of the BC Exchange Teachers Association where we provide information, assistance and social contacts to teachers from around the world that have exchanged their job position and house with a Canadian teacher from BC. Our current group includes teachers from Australia, Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
Our new house completion was delayed by two months so we decided to make the best of a winter escape and ran off to Australia to catch up with some of the former exchangees and one of our current Canadian teachers that had just arrived in Sydney. It was an exciting 5 weeks of planes, trains and automobiles and gave us a wonderful opportunity to discuss some of the highlights and pitfalls of the exchange process with some of our alumni. Sydney to Melbourne, to Bendigo, Perth, Albany, Adelaide, Wodonga, Canberra and then back to Sydney. What a whirlwind tour! What great Australian hospitality! We gathered a lot of great info and look forward to any of our Aussie friends visiting us in Aldergrove when they come across the "big ditch" on their next adventure.
